However, I almost cracked today and grabbed a copy but then I read a review on another gaming site and what shocked me was that Funcom have not allowed reviving in group combat within dungeons. The only thing holding me back to date is the fact I have bought GW2 on preorder and I didn't want to get hooked into another MMO beforehand. People will kick people from groups in game regardless mostly to make sure theyy can enjoy the content without 'carrying a noob' which is where most kicks for thigns like gearscore or dying come from, till you can make it that people do not want to make sure they get their enjoyment of playying without feeling they are carrying someone you can not change that players will be kicked for such reasons.

There is no system in any game that will not lead to elitism at all, also a game that is based around competion like tsw is with the leader boards is going to have many ways of showing how elite you are as such i am sure deaths will be the least of those. Elitism is more about playersthan any certain system, as those that feel they have to be elite will find any part of the game to show their elite, and with the leader-boards in the game i am sure those will be where people will have thier elitism gained from not how well they evade death. Yup called the players in the group if they keep watch for players looking to ride on their coat-tails, and always die relatively quick either right at the start or soon after. Is there a system in the game to stop players from purposefully killing themselves, then reaping rewards later on without having to actually do anything? This system also makes me think it will eventually lead to elitism. This no-rez system sounds interesting, but perhaps might be prone to sabotage by lazy players. While the bad players are quickly sent to the peanut gallery (yes they give you a battle cam to watch the fight so mabey you can learn why you died and others havent) Good players really shine.ive seen now a few times where the endboss of inferno was dropped with the healer down.or the least 10% finished off by one DPS while the rest had died.Īlso while open world pve'ing.i dont think people know they can revive on the respawn.i mean they put those things all over the place so your never far from where you died, dont risk respawning on active mobs.also increasing sprint speed is cheap and you got nothing else to spend money on.travel is unrealicly fast in this game.needing on the spot rez doesnt seve a purpose, in a game like this. And there is nothing wrong with that, we just enjoy different things.Īt least in TSW if your a stupid player and you know it you can equip a self heal or a barrier.or something to make up for the fact that you cant see the obvious fire or notice that the water is electrified.or that black stuff puts a DOT on you ect. I rather enjoyed parts of GW2, but this part of it totally turned me off. One is not right or wrong, they're just different designs that appeal to different types of players. TSW encounters are designed so that if you suck you will fail, while GW2 encounters are designed so that they die no matter how bad the players are. That mechanic works for GW2 because the game is designed so that every fight is a zerg and that it makes absolutely no difference what any of the players are doing or whether they're any good, since the event will still die to zerg. Addional team work, emotions and problem solved.
